TÜYAP was built in June 28^th, 1979 in Istanbul. The Beylikdüzü Fair and Convention Center was opened in 1996. This important venue is the largest private convention center in Turkey with its 60.000 m² indoor and 60.000 m² outdoor areas.

TÜYAP prioritizes cooperation with national and international associations, and is a member of ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association), INTEREXPO (The association of organizers of exhibitions abroad and of national participations in international trade fairs and exhibitions), ICC (International Chamber of Commerce), and UFI (the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry).

The Istanbul Book Fair, organized every year in November by TÜYAP and the Turkish Publishers Association in the TÜYAP Fair and Convention Center - Beylikdüzü, is one of the most important cultural events in the city.

Organized with the contributions of 550 publishing firms, the 2009 Istanbul Book Fair was attended by 28 countries, 62 participants, and 51 foreign writers. The fair, which included 297 cultural activities in 9 days allowed hundreds of writers to meet their fans during book signings and other activities. The fair is organized simultaneously with ARTİST, the Istanbul Art Fair each year. This event, which will give you the chance to see many of Turkey’s publishers and writers, will tell you much about the book culture in Istanbul.
